The audit log keeps who did what, when and from which device, with before and after values. Search by name or reason; nobody can edit or delete it.

Who can do this:
Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Accountant, Auditor, Privacy Officer (role defaults; the owner can change them)

The audit log keeps who did what, when and from which device. It covers financial changes, team access, settings and views of sensitive data. Use it to look back when figures look wrong or something seems off.

Who can open it

You need the View audit log permission, held by default by: Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Accountant, Auditor, Privacy Officer. Open it from Audit log.

Find an event

  1. Open Audit log.

  2. Type in Search events, users or reasons, for example a staff member's name or a word from a reason.

  3. Choose an event type, or leave it on All types.

  4. Tap a row to see its Details.

What each row shows

  • The time and the event name, such as transaction.voided or member.access_changed; event names appear as system codes.

  • The type: financial, security, data, administration or system.

  • Who did it, with their email, or system when the system acted by itself.

  • The device and IP address.

  • The reason the person entered, such as a void reason.

The detail view shows the Before and After values and a request ID you can give the support team.

Sensitive values are hidden

Passwords, 2FA data, national ID numbers, phone numbers, addresses, IMEIs and serial numbers are not stored in the log; the system writes [redacted] instead. That is why an auditor can read the log without seeing customers' data.

It can't be edited or deleted

Nobody can edit or delete the audit log, the owner included. The database itself refuses changes, and each store sees only its own entries.

Examples

You want to know Search for
Who voided a bill, and why transaction.voided, then check the time and reason
Who changed a staff member's access member.access_changed
Who revealed a customer's ID number customer.pii_viewed
Who turned solo mode on or off sod.solo_mode

Frequently asked questions

Can the owner delete the audit log?

No. Nobody can edit or delete the audit log, the owner included. The database itself refuses changes, so the log can serve as evidence.
