Limit staff to their own branches. A limited member can't open other branches' documents, items or receipts, and can't choose to see all branches at once.
- Who can do this:
- Owner, Store Admin (role defaults; the owner can change them)
Multi-branch stores can limit staff to their own branches. A limited member doesn't see, and can't open, other branches' documents, items or receipts.
Set the branches someone works in
When you invite someone, choose branches under Branches. If you choose none, the person can work at every branch.
For someone already in the store:
Open Team and tap Edit on the staff member's row.
Untick Access to all branches.
Tick at least one branch the person works at.
Tap Save.
What a limited member sees
-
The branch switcher at the top lists only their branches, and they can't choose All branches.
-
The system opens their first branch automatically when they start.
-
If they open a link to another branch's document or item, they see a page-not-found message, as if it didn't exist.
-
They can print receipts and void documents only for their own branches.
-
Cash/accounts shows their own branch's cash drawer plus accounts shared by every branch, such as the bank account.
Approvers need the branch too
When an action needs a second person, the approver must also work at that action's branch. If not, the system says the approver has no access to this branch. See Why some tasks need a second person.
Good to know
-
Branch limits cover data tied to a branch. Store-wide data, such as the customer list and the model catalog, still follows the role's permissions.
-
Global search results may show the name of an item at another branch, but its page won't open.
