A one-person store can approve its own actions with a reason each time. It turns on by itself for a single member, and every action is reported to the owner.
A store run by one person has nobody else to approve. Solo mode lets a member with the permission approve their own actions, with a written reason every time, and collects every such action for the owner to check.
When it is on
-
Automatically when the store has only one active team member. Store settings shows a message that solo mode was switched on automatically.
-
By the owner's choice, for stores with several people where at times there is nobody to approve.
When a second team member is invited and accepts, automatic solo mode turns itself off, unless the owner switched it on.
Turn solo mode on or off (owners)
Open Store settings and scroll to the Segregation of duties (a second approver) card.
Tick or untick Solo mode: self-approval with a reason.
Tap Save settings and confirm your password again.
Turning it on or off is recorded in the audit log as its own event.
While solo mode is on
-
Actions that normally need a second person show a Solo mode: self-approval box asking for a Reason (self-approval) instead of someone else's confirmation.
-
You still need the task's permission. Solo mode replaces the second person, not the permission; for example a cashier still can't void documents.
-
Every self-approval appears in the Self-approved actions report for members with View audit log.
-
If there were self-approved actions, owners get a summary notification the next morning.
Owners can self-approve even without solo mode
By default owners may approve their own actions, because they are the accountable principal. These are recorded as self-approvals and appear in the same report. If the store wants owners to need a second person too, untick Store owners may approve their own actions.
