Scan or type the IMEI first and the system suggests the model and spec from your purchase history and anonymous shop data. Tap once to use it, or reject it.
- Who can do this:
- Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Cashier, Appraiser (role defaults; the owner can change them)
On the Receive screen the IMEI field comes before the model search. Once the IMEI is complete and valid, the system looks at its first 8 digits (the TAC, which names the device type) and suggests the model and spec it probably is, so you confirm instead of searching. It is only a hint: nothing is chosen for you automatically.
Open Receive and scan or type the IMEI in IMEI (the system helps pick the model). See Scan an IMEI with your phone camera for scanning.
Wait a moment. If the system has a suggestion, a panel shows the model and spec with its source, confidence and sample size.
Check the model against the device in your hand. If it matches, tap Use this model. The model and spec are selected and the IMEI stays in the field.
If it doesn't match, tap Not this model and search for the model yourself as in Find a model and spec in the catalog (Thai works).
Where a suggestion comes from
-
Your own purchase history: if your shop has bought a device whose IMEI starts the same way, the system suggests that model straight away, even after a single purchase. Only your shop sees this.
-
Other shops on the system: the system combines what shops chose into counts, without saying which shop. It suggests a model to every shop only when several shops chose the same one and no other model has a large share of the choices. A shop counts as one vote however many devices it buys.
-
The system does not use an outside TAC database yet.
Confidence and sample size
Every suggestion shows a confidence percentage and how many purchases or shops it comes from. The number helps you decide; it is not a guarantee. The more matching examples, the higher it is.
If the same TAC has been recorded with different specs, the system suggests only the model when the spec is unclear and lets you choose the spec.
When the data disagrees
Sometimes one TAC has been recorded as several models. The system then says the IMEI can be several models and shows up to three choices with a lower confidence. Pick only the one that matches the real device. If you already chose a model and the system finds this IMEI is usually recorded as another one, it shows a reminder to check again, without changing your choice.
If there is no suggestion
-
It says no model was found for this IMEI: there is no data for this TAC yet. Search for the model yourself. When you buy this device, the system remembers it for next time.
-
It says the lookup is too frequent: wait a moment and tap Try again.
-
It says the lookup failed: tap Try again or choose the model yourself. You can carry on as usual.
-
An invalid IMEI, or one already in stock, gets no suggestion. See Invalid IMEI or IMEI already in stock: what to do.
