See money in and out of every account per day, with the opening and end-of-day balances, always worked out from real payments, never from a typed total.
- Who can do this:
- Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Accountant, Auditor (role defaults; the owner can change them)
The Cash flow report shows how much money came into and went out of the store each day, across every account (cash drawers, bank accounts, PromptPay and cards), with the balance at the end of each day. Only people with View financial reports can open it.
Where the numbers come from
This report reads every payment the store received or made, directly. There is no balance anyone can type over, so each day is recalculated from real entries every time, just like the Cash/accounts page.
-
Cash in: money from sales, capital put in, other income, the opening balances you recorded, and the receiving side of transfers between accounts.
-
Cash out: money paid for purchases, customer refunds, expenses, capital taken out, and the paying side of transfers between accounts.
-
Net: money in minus money out for the day.
-
End-of-day balance: the running total from the store's first entry up to the end of that day.
The headline figures start with Opening balance, the running total before the first day of the period, followed by money in, money out and Closing balance.
How it differs from other reports
-
It counts the day the money moved, not the day the item was sold.
-
A void does not erase the original money. The system records the opposite payment on the day of the void. If you void yesterday's sale today, yesterday still shows money in and today shows the same amount going out, so the balance is right.
-
Transfers between accounts appear in both money in and money out, netting to zero. They do not give the store more money.
-
Data imported from Excel, such as opening stock and past sales, is not in this report, because it did not move money in the system.
What you can use it for
-
Compare the cash in the drawer at closing time with the balance in the system.
-
See whether purchases this month went beyond the money you had.
-
Find days with unusually large outflows, then open the documents in Transactions.
