This opportunity card warns before stock turns into dead stock. The system looks at how fast that category usually sells in your shop and points to devices that are already slower than the category's norm, even if they have not reached the slow-moving limit your shop set.
What the system looks at
-
The real time to sell (Days-to-Sell) of devices sold in the last several months, per category. A category needs enough devices sold before its pace counts.
-
Devices in the shop that have not yet reached your slow-moving limit but are older than most devices of that category took to sell.
-
A category that is normally slow is not flagged by this rule. The slow-moving and dead-stock limits keep working as before.
Reprice suggestion
The system uses the shop's existing rule: suggest a first cut when a device turns slow, and a second, larger cut when its age reaches the same multiple of that point as your dead-stock limit is of your slow-moving limit. These are the same two steps the slow and dead stock cards suggest. Each device in the list shows the new price, rounded, or says it has no price yet.
Treat the figure as a starting point, and look at the suggested price on the product page before you actually cut.
Good to know
The card does not look at market prices or the condition of the device. A slow device may be slow because of a particular grade or spec, so this is decision support, not a guarantee that a lower price will sell it. The card is shown to everyone who can view stock and is sent with the dead and slow stock alerts.
