The system won't guess when a spec has too few real sales or market prices. Sell in the system, record market prices or import past sales to build up data.

- Available on Starter and up
- Who can do this:
- Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Supervisor-Approver, Cashier, Appraiser (role defaults; the owner can change them)
When there's too little price data for a spec, the system doesn't guess. The valuation panel shows Not enough price data for this model yet — record at least 3 actual sale or market prices and leaves out Expected Sell and Safe Buy.
What data counts
The system uses your shop's data for exactly the same spec (same model and storage), going back 180 days by default. Each kind carries a different weight:
| Data | Where it comes from | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Actual sale prices | Every sale in the system, recorded automatically | Highest |
| Imported past sales | Imported from Excel | The same as a listing price, because the system didn't see the sale happen |
| Listing prices | Staff record them on Market prices | Lower, and counted at 93% of the listed price |
| Quoted prices | Staff record them on Market prices | Lowest |
A single real sale made in the system is enough to start a valuation. With listing prices only, you need several. Purchase prices and dealer prices don't feed Expected Sell, but when they exist the panel shows Your store has bought this model for about for reference.
Different grades, battery levels and official/grey imports still count: the system adjusts each price to match the device you're valuing, and discounts older prices over time.
Why new shops often see this
The system only uses your own shop's data, so a shop that has just started has no sales in it yet. Data from other shops on the network is not open yet. See Province prices and the cross-store IMEI signal.
How to add data
-
Sell in the system: every sale is recorded as a real sale price for that spec automatically.
-
Record market prices: tap Record market price in the panel, or open Market prices, and record the listing prices you find with their source. See Record market, dealer and quoted prices.
-
Import past sales: if your shop has old sales in Excel, import them so the system learns prices and selling times. See Import past sales history.
While there isn't enough data
-
Set purchase prices from your shop's experience, and look at the earlier purchase price the panel shows.
-
Enter a target sell price on the buying screen to see a rough expected profit.
-
Once there's enough data, the panel starts showing prices on its own, with low confidence at first.
