Pay the seller by cash, transfer, PromptPay or cheque, add a reference for non-cash, or split two ways. Money leaves the matching account with the purchase.
- Who can do this:
- Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Cashier, Appraiser (role defaults; the owner can change them)
You choose how to pay the seller in 4. Price and payment on the buying screen. The system records the money leaving the shop's account for the method you choose, in the same document as the purchase, so the cash drawer and account balances stay true.
Available methods
Under Pay the customer by there are four buttons: cash, transfer, PromptPay and cheque. For anything other than cash you can enter a Transfer reference (optional). It prints on the purchase voucher and helps you trace the slip later.
Enter the Purchase price (agreed with customer) first.
Tap a method under Pay the customer by.
For a transfer or PromptPay, enter the reference from the transfer slip.
To pay two ways, tick Split across two payment methods, choose the Second method and enter the Amount by second method.
Check the amount to pay the customer in the bar at the bottom, then tap Confirm purchase.
Paying two ways
The first method automatically gets whatever is left after the second. The second amount must be more than zero and less than the purchase price.
Which account the money leaves
-
Cash: from the cash drawer of the buying branch
-
Transfer, PromptPay, cheque: from the main account for that method
See each account's balance under Cash/accounts. If the cash balance in the system goes negative, see Negative balance: causes and fixes.
Paid the wrong way
A document's payment method can't be edited. If you chose the wrong one, for example cash when you transferred, void the purchase and record it again with the right method. See Recorded something wrong or sold at the wrong price?.
