Warns when a model you have in stock sells for less, or more slowly, than a few weeks ago. Uses your shop's real sold prices, not asking prices.
- Who can do this:
- Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Supervisor-Approver, Cashier, Appraiser, Technician, Inventory staff, Accountant, Auditor, Viewer, Dealer (role defaults; the owner can change them)
These two cards warn when a model you have in stock starts to sell for less, or takes longer to sell, than it did a few weeks ago. The system looks at the real sold prices your shop recorded, not asking prices.
Two kinds of card
-
The real sold price of models in the shop is falling: the price actually obtained in the last 30 days is lower than in the 60 days before that, comparing the same model, spec and grade. If it moved by no more than 3%, the system calls it flat and shows no card.
-
Models in the shop are selling slower: the real days to sell in the last 30 days are longer than in the 60 days before that.
A card appears only for models the shop has in stock now, and only when there are enough sales. With little data the system does not guess.
How the system compares
-
Prices are compared only within the same group: the same model, spec and grade, so selling more low-grade devices cannot look like a price drop.
-
A group with more data counts for more.
-
Prices the system excluded as unusual are not counted.
-
Confidence starts moderate and rises with the number of records, but never passes the ceiling the system sets.
What to do
-
If the price is falling, check the list price of that model in Release cash and do not buy at the old price.
-
If it is selling slower, buy fewer of that model and check for stuck devices in Hard-to-sell and easy-to-sell models: careful and want.
-
Before buying, see Check Safe Buy before you buy, which already uses the latest real sold prices of the shop.
Good to know
A direction comes from comparing two periods. It is not a forecast, and it does not look at whether outside market prices changed. Speed is measured only on devices that have sold, and devices that have not sold are not counted, so a model that is starting to get stuck can look faster than it is. Look at the overall picture in How the easy and hard-to-sell score works as well.
Anyone who can view stock sees the cards. The falling-price card is sent as an alert in the market price drop group, and the slowing card in the dead and slow stock group.
