See how much money is tied up in slow stock, how much cash a markdown by your shop's rules would return after fees, and set the new price with one button.

Who can do this:
Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Supervisor-Approver, Cashier, Appraiser, Technician, Inventory staff, Accountant, Auditor, Viewer, Dealer (role defaults; the owner can change them)

When the economy slows, money tied up in stock is money the shop cannot turn over. This page ranks slow stock by the cash you would get back if you marked it down by your own shop's rules, shows what waiting costs each day, and lets you set the new price in a single tap.

What this page tells you

  • Cash you can release: the suggested new price of every device on the list, after the selling fee your shop set. By default the fee is 0%.

  • Discount you give up: the difference between the list price and the new price.

  • Capital tied up and carrying cost per day: the total cost of the stock times the holding-cost rate per month that your shop set, by default 1.5% per month, divided into days. Only members with View cost and profit see these.

How the new price is worked out

It uses the same rule as the slow stock and dead stock cards. When a device reaches your slow-moving limit (by default 30 days), the first cut is 5%, and when it reaches your dead-stock limit (by default 60 days), the second cut is 10%. The price is rounded to your price step and never goes below cost. If the cut would reach cost, the row says "at cost".

Devices of a model the system classes as "hard to sell" (see Hard-to-sell and easy-to-sell models: careful and want) join the list sooner, from half of the slow-moving limit. Devices without a price, reserved, still in repair, or in transit between branches are not on this list.

Set a new price

  1. Open Release cash and choose a filter or an order, such as most cash first or longest in stock.

  2. Look at the new price, the cash you get and the "at cost" mark on the device you care about.

  3. Tap Set new price on that row. The device's list price changes to the new price at once.

  4. If it was a mistake, tap Undo in the message that appears. The old price comes back within a few tens of seconds.

Several devices at once

Tick the devices and tap Set new prices by the rules, up to 100 devices at a time. The system works the new prices out again when you tap, and skips any device whose price or status has changed. The summary says how many were set and how many were skipped.

Who can do what

  • Anyone who can view stock can open this page.

  • Setting a price needs Set list prices and list items. By default the roles with it are Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Inventory staff, and it is checked again as each device is saved.

  • Staff limited to some branches see and price only the devices of their own branch.

Good to know

The new price is a starting point from your shop's rules. It does not look at market prices or the condition of the device. Check the suggested price on the product page before you really cut. The figures are decision support, not a guarantee that a lower price will sell the device.

Frequently asked questions

If I mark down from this list, does the system record a sale?

No. Setting a new price changes only the list price of the device. No money moves and no account is touched. Money comes in only when you really sell on the sales screen.
