Set a device to reserved with a reason on its item page so other staff know it's held. A reserved device can still be sold, and no deposit is recorded.
- Who can do this:
- Owner, Store Admin, Manager, Appraiser, Technician, Inventory staff (role defaults; the owner can change them)
When a customer asks you to hold a device, change its status to Reserved. Other staff then see in the stock list and on the item page that it's being held. A reservation is only a status on the device: it isn't linked to a customer in the system and doesn't take a deposit.
Open the item page and tap Change status.
Choose Reserved under New status.
Enter a Reason, such as when the customer will collect it.
Tap Save.
You need Edit items, and the device must be ready to sell or listed.
While it's reserved
-
It can still be sold on the sale screen, to the customer who reserved it or anyone else, so staff should check the status before selling.
-
It can't be transferred, sent for repair or written off until the status changes back.
-
The reservation reason shows in the item page's timeline.
Cancelling a reservation
Tap Change status and choose ready to sell or listed, with a reason. When the customer comes to buy, sell it as usual. See Selling at the counter: the full process.
