Add a branch with a code, name, province, address and phone. Each has its own stock and cash drawer. Branches close but can't be deleted; plans set the limit.

Who can do this:
Owner, Store Admin (role defaults; the owner can change them)

Branches keep each shopfront's stock, cash drawer and documents apart. A new store starts with one branch as head office, and you can add more up to what your plan allows. Everything is managed under Branches.

Before you start

  • You need the Manage branches permission. By default it is held by: Owner, Store Admin.

  • How many active branches you can have depends on the plan. If you go over, the system tells you the plan's maximum. See Can't add staff or branches: plan limit.

  1. Open Branches and tap Add branch.

  2. Enter a short Code, such as BKK2 (letters, digits or dashes), and the Branch name.

  3. Choose the Province, then enter the branch's address, subdistrict, district, postal code and phone.

  4. Set the Status to active, then tap Save.

Edit an existing branch with the Edit button in the branch list.

What branch details are used for

Closing a branch

Branches can't be deleted, because documents are tied to them. Set the Status to inactive instead.

  • The head office can't be closed.

  • At least one branch must always stay active.

  • A closed branch isn't offered when buying, selling or as a transfer destination.

  • You can reopen a branch, but it counts towards the plan's branch limit.

Limiting staff to some branches

Each team member can be limited to certain branches. Set it on the team page. See Limit staff to certain branches.

After adding a branch

  1. Enter the branch's address and phone so receipt headers are right.

  2. Limit or add team members to work in the new branch. See Limit staff to certain branches.

  3. Record the branch's licences if it needs any. See Record licences and their expiry dates.

  4. Transfer stock to sell there, or start buying into that branch straight away.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to the stock when I close a branch?

The stock stays in that branch, but a closed branch isn't offered for selling or as a transfer destination. Transfer the items out before closing it.
